The Mental Health Marathon

This World Poetry Day Heads Together wants to show that poetry can be a way to start a conversation on mental health by showcasing poets that uses poetry as a way to tackle difficult topics surrounding mental health.

Prince Harry attended the Veterans’ Mental Health Conference at King’s College as part of Heads Together to change the conversation on mental health.

As the countdown to the Virgin Money London Marathon continues, Prince Harry meets runners and Heads Together supporters from across the North East and Scotland who are working to make 2017 the mental health marathon.

Their Royal Highnesses joined training sessions on the new London Marathon Community Track with more than 150 Team Heads Together runners along with world-record holder and three time London Marathon winner, Paula Radcliffe and British 400m record holder and London Marathon regular, Iwan Thomas.

Bringing together leaders from across UK society with less than 100 days to go until the 2017 Virgin Money London Marathon, The Prince and Princess of Wales and Prince Harry expressed their hope that 2017 could be a tipping point for mental health in the UK.

The Prince and Princess of Wales and Prince Harry celebrated the work of volunteers and counsellors at the Heads Together Christmas party hosted by youth support service The Mix.

The Prince of Wales attended a briefing with business leaders to discuss the importance of workplace wellbeing. The event, hosted by Unilever, one of the campaign’s Founding Partners, was an opportunity for The Prince to hear from some of the country’s top FTSE 100 employers about how mental health and wellbeing is currently understood within the workplace, and what more we can do to challenge stigma.

On World Mental Health Day, Heads Together celebrated the support with a special event at County Hall and The London Eye. Their Royal Highnesses met with inspirational people that have offered crucial support.

The Prince and Princess of Wales visited Stewards Academy, one of the schools supported by Place 2 Be to learn more about children's mental wellbeing.

The Prince and Princess of Wales visited Young Minds Parent Helpline to learn more about helpline services and the people behind them.

Prince Harry met with sports stars to talk about the mental health challenges they have faced and the important support they received during those difficult times.

Their Royal Highnesses outlined the important work of the eight charity partners and set the ambition for the Heads Together campaign.
